CINEMAPUA 2015
CONTEST MECHANICS
- CineMapua 2015 is open to bonafide students of school year 2014-2015 from all colleges and universities in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Bulacan.
- The participants must be in a group with no requirement as to the number of group members.
- The film entry must depict Filipino values and culture.
- The film video must have an actual maximum length of 20 minutes and a minimum of 10 minutes including the credits.
- The entry must be a live action video or animation, and not in a documentary format, of any of the following genres: drama, comedy, musical, action, suspense, historical, science fiction, or adventure.
- The music or the song used in the entry must be original or must secure a permission from the original artist to use the song or music.
- A film which has been awarded a prize in another contest is not qualified for this competition.
- The competition has two (2) categories: The Cinemapua Inter-Collegiate; and the Cinemapua Original.
- Cinemapua Inter-Collegiate is a category for legitimate students from all colleges and universities in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Bulacan.
- Cinemapua Original is an exclusive category for Mapua students from Intramuros campus and Makati campus.
- Student filmmaker can have a maximum of 2 film entries.
- The film video must be submitted in soft copy using MP4 format together with a maximum 1-minute film teaser (in soft copy, MP4 format), and film poster in 16x20 size (soft copy).
- Interested participants must also submit the following requirements: a. Filled up official entry form (entry form can be secured from the time of submission); b. Photocopy of current semester's registration form (all production members); c. Photocopy of School ID (all production members)
- All requirements must be submitted in a short brown envelop to Prof. Benigno B. Agapito Jr. at the School of Multimedia and Visual Arts, 5th Floor West Building, Mapua Institute of Technology, Muralla Street, Intramuros, Manila.
- The deadline for the submission of film is on November 14, 2014 not later than 5:00 p.m.
- All submitted films will be screened to select the Top 10 for Cinemapua Inter-Collegiate; and Top 10 for Cinemapua Original.
- The announcement of the top 10 films for both categories will be on December 14, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. via Cinemapua Facebook Page.
- The Top 10 films for both categories are the finalists and the official entries of Cinemapua 2015. Each is required to submit 3 printed copies of the poster in glossy photo paper with a 16x20 size.
- The 2015 CineMapua Film Festival Week will be during the Founding Anniversary of Mapua Institute of Technology on the last week of January 2015.
- The 2015 CineMapua Film Festival winners will be announced during the Awarding Ceremony.
- The Criteria for Judging: Directing (20 points); Cinematography (15 points); Editing (15 points); Story Concept (15 points); Sound and Music (15 points); Characterization (10 points); Production Design (10 points).
- The prizes of the winners: (Cinemapua Inter-Collegiate: Best Festival Film – P10,000; Second Best Festival Film – P7,000; Third Best Festival Film – P5,000) and (Cinemapua Original: Best Festival Film – P10,000; Second Best Festival Film – P7,000; Third Best Festival Film – P5,000).
- The Festival Special Awards: Best Actress; Best Actor; Best Supporting Actress; Best Supporting Actor; Best Child Performer; Best Director; Best Screenplay; Best Cinematography; Best Film Editing; Best Original Sound Track; Best Production Design; Best Special Effects; Best Film Teaser; Best Film Poster; Audience Choice Award.
- The decision of the Board of Judges is final. The judges will have the rights not to give an award to any of the mentioned categories if no entry should merit it.
